§ 86-127. Extended period.

  • Any member who attains the age of 55 years and who is otherwise eligible for retirement may be continued in service for periods not to extend beyond his attainment of age 60 years; provided, such continuance in service is:

    (1)

    Requested by him in writing; and

    (2)

    Recommended by the chief of police and approved by the city manager. Upon his retirement he shall be entitled to a pension provided for in section 86-151. In no event shall a member be retained in service beyond the age of 60 years.
