§ 66-53. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Alcohol means 190 proof ethyl alcohol or any fermented malt beverage, as defined in the Colorado Beer Code, or alcoholic beverages or alcoholic liquors, as defined in the Colorado Liquor Code.

    Arvada/Blunn Reservoir or reservoir means the lake, dam, spillways, appurtenances, and lands owned by the city and designated as the "Arvada/Blunn Reservoir" in Ordinance No. 2153 and such lands are located in sections 2 and 3, township 3 south, range 70 west of the 6th principal meridian, and in section 34, township 2 south, range 70 west of the 6th principal meridian, Jefferson County, State of Colorado, and as such lands have been annexed to the city by Ordinance No. 2371 and by Ordinance No. 2396.

    Controlled substances means any drug or other substance or immediate precursor that is declared to be a controlled substance by the Colorado Controlled Substances Act and defined in C.R.S. § 12-22-303, as amended.

    Disabled American Veteran means any Colorado resident who has been awarded a Purple Heart or has a 30 percent or more service-connected disability as determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

    Handicapped person means any person who meets the definition of a "handicapped person" in C.R.S. § 42-4-1109(1) and who has been issued a distinguishing license plate by the state motor vehicle division pursuant to C.R.S. § 42-4-1109(2) or (2.5).

    Reservoir ranger means any person designated to exercise authority to enforce this article at the reservoir.

    Senior citizen means any person who is 62 years of age or older.
