§ 62-54. Obscenity.
(a)
It shall be unlawful for any person to sell, offer for sale or display in any place open to the public, whether for a fee or not, any obscene material.
(b)
As used in this section, the term "obscene material" shall include any film, picture, book, magazine, recording or other object which:
(1)
The average person, applying contemporary community standards, would find, taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest; and
(2)
Depicts or describes, in a patently offensive way, any ultimate sexual act, whether normal or perverted or actual or simulated, masturbation, excretory functions, sadomasochism or a lewd exhibition of the genitals; and
(3)
Taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political or scientific value.
