§ 2-78. Removal of board and commission members.

  • (a)

    City council shall appoint councilmember appointees to boards, commissions and committees following each general municipal election. City councilmembers serve on boards, commissions and committees at the pleasure of city council and may be removed by city council by a vote of the council at any time.

    (b)

    All other members of boards, commissions, and committees, except as set forth in subsection (e) of this section, serve on such boards, commissions, and committees at the pleasure of the city council, and may be removed by a vote of the city council at any time.

    (c)

    However, before any council action, the board member shall be notified of the reason for intent to remove.

    (d)

    The board member shall be afforded the opportunity to appear before the council and present his reasons to remain on the board or commission.

    (e)

    Commissioners of the Arvada Urban Renewal Authority may only be removed from office in the manner prescribed in C.R.S. § 31-25-104(4).
