§ 2-31. Compensation of councilmembers and the mayor.

(a)

Each councilmember shall receive the sum of $1,150.00 per month. The mayor pro-tem shall receive $100.00 per month more, and the mayor shall receive $1,500.00 per month. The mayor and each councilmember shall be authorized to participate, at their cost, in the city sponsored 457 Deferred Compensation Plan and the Retirement Health Savings Plan.

(b)

The contribution or contributions, if any, made by the mayor or any councilmember to either the 457 Deferred Compensation Plan or the Retirement Health Savings Plan shall be voluntary, shall be made as an authorized deduction from their respective pay, shall not be added to existing pay, and accordingly shall not be deemed additional compensation.
